FRIENDS

OF BELTZVILLE

STATE PARK

 ABOUT OUR GROUP

MISSION STATEMENT: The Friends of Beltzville State Park are dedicated to the enhancement and conservation of the park.

The Friends of Beltzville State Park (FOBSP) friends group was founded in July 2015 with six or eight like-minded people. Friends groups, in general, provide volunteers at parks or forests and work closely with the park staff to contribute to the conservation and preservation of the park and its resources.

Friends are young and not so young, all with different background but all are people like you who love the outdoors and are willing to help conserve and preserve by volunteering their time, talents, services and support to enhance our state parks and forests.  Friends groups form for a variety of reasons, but all understand the value of their particular state park or forest and share a commonality to make that park of forest the best in the commonwealth.

ABOUT

The 3,002-acre Beltzville State Park is in the southern foothills of the Poconos. Pohopoco Creek, an excellent trout stream, feeds the 949-acre Beltzville Lake, which is a rest stop for migrating waterfowl and is a destination for boaters and anglers. The sand beach and picnic pavilions are very popular.

Recreational facilities are a result of a cooperative effort of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, DCNR's Bureau of State Parks and the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
